21 Day Fasting and Prayer Focus – Day 20
Word: Eternity
Lord Jesus, help us to live our lives with eternity in mind. What good would it be for anyone of us to gain the world but lose our soul. Help to be constant and consistent in fulfilling our mission in this world but may we do it with with eternity in mind. Deliver us from any obsession for the here and now. May we enjoy all things you provide us for our enjoyment but may we do so loosely. May we not attach ourselves so feverishly to them that we forget that what we do, what we have and how we manage it should have eternal value. May we share your love with such fervor knowing that everyone we come in contact with should know that we were created with eternity in mind. It is in your mighty name that we pray, AMEN!
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.
The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 | NIV
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
John 17:3 | NIV
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
