Day 16 – 2017 Fasting (Tuesday)

On January 23rd, 2017, posted in: 21 Day Fast 2017, Devotionals by | 6 Comments

We are barely into the third week of the new year. There is no question, particularly if you attend church regularly, that you started your year with a strong, positive, and perhaps prophetic word for 2017. For many of us, we even began the year with a 21-day Fast. You had your mind set that this year would be different.

The question is, has everything gone as planned thus far? I pray it has. However, for many, things just don’t go as humanly planned. Maybe sickness tried to knock on your door. Perhaps you faced a financial issue, a relational breakdown or a mental attack. What are you going to do? Are you going to sink back in distress and allow negative thoughts to distract you from your God-given mission?

Allow this to be a reminder. A reminder that you cannot make the same mistakes you’ve made before. A reminder that you cannot allow the enemy to distract you from what God wants to do for you and through you. A reminder to remain steadfast and focused on the word God has given you. “But pastor you don’t know the challenges I’m facing,” you may say. You are right, I don’t. But God does and He has already given you the strength, the power, and the strategies to move forward and above your circumstances.

Let us Fast and pray for focus. There is too much at stake. We can not afford to waste time with distractions and mental anguish. Let us Fast and pray for a mind dedicated to believing and declaring God’s Word. Fast and pray that like Peter (Matthew 14:22-33) you can step out in faith and walk over the very thing that has caused you fear – because you know that Jesus is present.

As you move into the final stretch of your 21-day fast, I want to pause with you to remind you that opposition will arise, but you cannot allow it to distract, discourage, or detain you from the journey you’ve begun.

As we move through this last, Fast and pray for yourself and the rest of the body of Christ. Let this be a week of counting God’s blessings, seeing God’s intervention, and moving in new dimensions.

Here are some scripture verses to read and meditate on throughout the day: (Click on the verses to read them on (www.biblegateway.com).

Psalms 112:7, 1 Cor. 15:58, Galatians 6:9, Philippians 1:6, Philippians 4:13,  James 1:2-4, James 1:12, John 4:4

Praying and Fasting for a steadfast spirit,

Pastor Charles

P.S. Write to us via e-mail, Facebook, or post on this daily blog…we would love to hear what God has done and is doing with you as you meditated on these devotionals and spent time in the presence of God! Blessings to you now and always!

Absolutely on point & encouraging! There have been distractions but this year is not going to be like last year! I say “Mind get yourself together, fear flea & distractions get out the way in Jesus name”!

God bless Pastor I agree distractions come in many forms and we have to have discernment not to let the enemy take away our focus from God’s work

Blessings! Thank you Pastor. I encourage us all as distractions come knocking on our door, let us continue to remain steadfast & stand firm on His promises & on the His word that never returns void. Thank you again Pastor.

Standing and declaring the word of God over every and any situation that stands to distract me from remaining focused on the things of the Lord!
God is not a man, that he would lie,
or a son of man, that he would change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it?
or has he spoken, and he will not fulfill it?
    – Numbers 23:19
