Day 13 – 2017 Fasting (Saturday)

What’s the sound you hear as you go about your day at work? How about at school, on the city streets, and just about anywhere else except a house of worship? Is it the sound of revival? Is it the sound of joy, greatness, purpose, tranquility? Or is it the sound of distress, worry, chaos, anxiety, depression and depravity?

Undoubtedly, our cities are in need of revival! The very word “revival” means to live again. We have more social programs, entertainment venues, and the like, all in the name of “helping” people live a “happier” life. Yet, debt, corruption, crime, drugs, alcoholism, teenage pregnancy, divisiveness and so many other ills abound in ways never thought possible. We have more police officers yet people feel less safe? Have we forgotten, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it. Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”(Ps.127:1) It’s time for our cities to “Live” again!

Yesterday (January 20, 2017) was a historical day in America, as there was a (peaceful) transfer of power to an incoming President who ran a rather unorthodox campaign, to say the least. Whether you are in agreement with him or not, God’s Word still calls us to pray for him.  Conversely however, despite all the promises made from the inaugural podium, we must understand that fastest road to a great nation is not a man but a nation turning to God. We need a fresh wave of God and the power of the Holy Spirit to sweep through our cities. And it may very well begin with your (our) intercession.

Fast and pray over your neighborhood, government, school staff and administrators, your work place, police force and all public safety personnel, for city administrators and law makers, even for our churches. Pray that many, many of these places would be occupied by God-fearing, Spirit-filled individuals. That we would not only pray but also take the steps to be the hands, feet, and mouth of Jesus in our city. Fast and pray that the powers of darkness would have to surrender to the Light of the World!

Here are some scripture verses to read and meditate on throughout the day: (Click on the verses to read them on

2 Chronicles 7:13-14Psalms 85:5-6, Isaiah 57:13-16, Habakkuk 3:2, John 10:10

Standing in the gap with you,

I have been praying for the Holy Spirit to begin to work on the hearts of people specifically latley He has me praying for my co workers and just this morning at work a co worker told me that he has been seeking the Lord and He feels Him moving in is life. I’m over joyed for this new transformation in his life. Praising God because when He speaks and we obey He makes the way!
Praying with you for the Holy Spirit to continue pouring out in our families, communities and the nations!
