Baked Beans in Crockpot (can be baked in oven)
2 15oz. cans beans (small white beans – Habichuelas Blancas or Canneloni,etc)
2 8 oz. cans Goya tomato sauce
1 small jar Ragu
1/4 c mustard
1/4 c Polaner jelly (w no sugar added) or 1/4 c concentrated juice(no sugar/water added)
1″ slab of tofu (or more if you want), sliced in 1″ slivers to resemble the small pieces of bacon fat in baked beans
Cook in crokpot on low, w lid on, stirring every hr, 4 6-8 hrs., then turn on “keep warm” setting 4 another 4 hrs. Can b made overnite.
Cornmeal – hot; Boil 2 c water; mix 1 c corn meal w 1/2 c cold water; stir; add 2 boiling water; stir while turning heat down 2 low. Cover n cook 10 min., stirring frequently. Spoon in2 dishes n add Polaner jam or jelly, or herbs n veggies, however u like it. Cornmeal Polenta – use above recipe, then pour in2 a loaf pan or small casserole dish n refrig. Slice n brown in oven in olive oil in cast iron pan w fresh dill n cilantro sprinkled on it, 4 about 3 min / side. Add Polaner jam, jelly or veggies over it 2 eat.
