1. 14 cups of water
  2. 4 green bananas
  3. 3 potatoes cut to small cube size
  4. ½ cup chopped onions
  5. ½ cup chopped cilantro
  6. ½ cup chopped recao
  7. ½ head of cabbage sliced
  8. 1 cup of cauliflower
  9. 1 cup of broccoli
  10. 1 cup zucchini sliced
  11. 4 to 6 bite size corn ears
  12. 2 small packages of sazon
  13. 1 teaspoon of salt
  14. 1 dash of pepper
  15. ½ teaspoon of Adobo
  16. 2 chicken or beef flavor bouillon or cube
  17. 2 tablespoons of Sofrito
  18. 1 table spoon of olive oil
  19. ½ cup of green olives with the olive juice


1. Pour the water into a large pot
2. Add the sofrito
3. Add the chopped cilantro
4. Add the chopped recao
5. Add onions
6. Add salt
7. Add sazon
8. Add pepper
9. Add Adobo
10. Add olives
11. Add the two cubes of chicken or beef flavor
12. Let that cook on high for 5 to 10 minutes
13. Add potatoes
14. Add cauliflower
15. Add broccoli
16. Add zucchini
17. Add corn ears
18. Add cabbage
19. Let the flavors all dance together on medium high as you move on to make banana dumplings.
20. Peel the skin off the green bananas, best way to do this is to cut the ends of first, then slice the skin gently; not straight through the actual banana and peel off. Throw away banana peel.
21. The texture of bananas stick to your hands, so don’t panic this will work.
22. Grate the bananas and put in a bowl, add the olive oil and mix the olive oil with the green bananas, feel free to use your CLEAN hands/ Key Word: CLEAN hands. Now make round balls out of dumpling mix and as you make them add them to the soup.

23. Let soup cook for another 15 to 20 minutes on medium high or until the dumplings are fully cooked.
24. Serve and enjoy this hearty vegetable stew!

Feel free to add or deduct in the seasonings. Keep in mind we do not want to overindulge in salt and do not add any types of meats or sugar! The stew will create a great flavor as all the ingredients are added.

Serves 6 to 8 perhaps more, depending on soup bowl used and portions being served this may change.
