21 Day Fasting and Prayer Focus – Day 7
Word: Money
Gracious God may our lives be lived in a way where in no, shape, or form would we be entrapped by the love of money. We know that you have given us the ability to work for and increase in blessings. But we also know Lord that you have bless us to be a blessing. Forgive us if we ever think that we are the owners of our financial blessings. Help us to understand that we instead are stewards of every blessing you gift us with. May we be faithful to you with our giving and use any financial provision to proportionately honor you and be a blessing to our families, our church, our communities and the world. In Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN.
Scripture Verses:
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Dishonest money dwindles away,
but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
The blessing of the Lord brings wealth,
without painful toil for it.
Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops.
Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;
for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous.

Word: Courage

Gracious God I pray that courage may abound in the lives of your people. There are things – circumstances and unexpected turn of events – that make an attempt at frightening your people. However, I pray that in the midst of such circumstances, may we have the courage to stand firm, declare your Word, act accordingly and come forth victoriously. May we have the courage to stand for Biblical truth; the courage to share the love and gospel of Jesus Christ. May we have the courage to set boundaries for our children, while loving them unconditionally. May we have the courage to step out in faith and get a hold of those things you have promised even whole the journey may frighten us. May we have the courage to speak with truth and boldness even when it may seem unpopular. In Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN.

Scripture Verses:

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

1 Chronicles 28:20 David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD!

When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Word: Eternity

Lord God, help us to live with an eternal perspective in mind. Instant gratification – living for the now – materialism, unhealthy ambition and the like tend to obscure our understanding that this life on earth is but a short breath. Lord God, you created us for so much more. You created us for eternity. Lord, may we focus and invest more on those things that have eternal value. May we care for the poor, live a life of generosity, worship you with our lifestyle.and above all acknowledge that we are nothing without the saving grace of Jesus Christ. AMEN.

Scripture Verses:

For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord.
Proverbs 8:35 | NIV

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
1 Peter 5:10 | NIV

The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 2:17 | NIV

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Word: Family
Lord God help us to honor, love and serve one of the greatest institutions created by you – Family! In a culture where it seems as though people are busier than ever and ever striving for more, help us to balance our time in a way that honors family. May we prioritize in such a way that our families, both biological and spiritual, are blessed by our attention, love, time, care and faithfulness. May we set patterns for generations to come that will honor you. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
“Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord.
Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise.
The wicked die and disappear, but the family of the godly stands firm.
A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live.
God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
