2014 Fast- Day 1

On January 2nd, 2014, posted in: 21 Day Focus 2014 by | 8 Comments

It truly is an honor to be able to join with you once again in a 21 Day Fast. I look forward to providing a framework or at least some tools to help you throughout the next 21 days. Whatever type of Fast you have chosen, stick with it, you will not regret it.

I walked into a living room sometime ago during a visit out of town and what I saw should have shocked me, but it didn’t. Every single person around the living room, and dining room for that matter, had their heads bowed. Praying? Unlikely! They were looking down at their individual telephone screens;  glued to games, social media, emails, and God knows what else. The new level of socialization, I thought. I have to admit, I wasn’t one bit happy and it took everything in me not to throw a fit (hey, I’m human).

As I pondered on what I had just seen, I realized that though social media and technology has many wonderful uses, it was serving to confine people to a lifestyle of limitations; limited in conversation, limited in (true) relationship building, limited in public and physical social skills, limited in spending valuable time in things of significance, and the list goes on.

May I invite you today to begin this FAST by coming out of your tent of limitation (Genesis 15:5)? Take an inventory of your life and allow the Holy Spirit to show you all those things that have attempted to limit your progress. What is it? Too much social media? Poor time management? Unbridled spending? Feelings of inferiority, incompetence, or shame? Is it fear?

Spend time in God’s presence and make a commitment to move beyond limitations and conformity and into God’s purpose and design for your life. If you can move past those limitations, you will move into the greater things that God wants to say to you and do through you over the next 21 days and for the rest of this year. Are you ready? Let’s begin!

Normally I would invite you to make a prayer with me. Not today. Instead, I encourage you to go before the Lord and speak from the heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal those things that have kept you confined. As your spirit gets stirred, keep praying; an awakening will take place as you step into this new and exciting journey.

Here are some scripture verses to read and meditate on throughout the day: (Click on the verses to read them on www.biblegateway.com).

Luke 12:15, Rom.12:2, Phil.4:13, Col.3:2, Titus 2:11-12, 1 Peter 2:9

Blessed to walk this journey with you,

Pastor Charles

P.S. Write to us via e-mail, Facebook, or post on this daily blog…we would love to hear what God has done and is doing with you as you meditated on these devotionals and spent time in the presence of God! Blessings to you now and always!

O.K…. so here we go … the start of the best journey of my life, and the hardest fast I have ever done… Sometimes I think, well not sometimes who am I kidding, all the time, I think that a 3 day full fast is so much easier. Dieing to self and learning to grow in the small area of the Fruit of the Spirit called self-control is a journey all on its own.People fast for many reasons, for me this journey is a Spiritual one, a time to reflect, look inward, and see things as I have never been able to see them before…. so here we go a NON-VEGETABLE EATING person on this journey called the Daniel Fast!

I’m surprised to say that I am looking forward to the next 21 days! As some of us move out of 2013 and into the year of our miracle, double portion, double blessing, double anointing – I, personally, want to be ready when it all arrives. I don’t want to miss even one moment in God’s Presence, or overlook one of His blessings, or mistake His whisper or neglect a Heavenly opportunity. So during this fast, I have an arm’s length list of doors that need to be opened and needs that need to be met and circumstances that need His intervening Hand — but, most of all, I just want HIM….

    On this journey together!

God is getting ready to open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out His blessings over us as we rise up, remove distractions, move beyond our limitations and actively participate in His plan for our lives. I’m so excited to be stepping into this journey with all of you! Look out 2014…Here we come!

I am truly excited to be on this 21 day fasting Journey with the Body of Christ. So many across our nation are taking 21 days to dedicate themselves, in body, spirit, and mind to seeking the face of God! Yes, the atmosphere is different! Strongholds are falling, people are putting a pause on social media; The atmosphere is saturated for the supernatural to occur! As for me, I needed this for my soul! It’s day one and already I am feeling refreshed. Thank you PC for directing our focus to renewing our mind, using our strength to endure this process, reminding us that we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, and to be on guard for their is an enemy that wants to distract us and keep us from having an intimate relationship with God.

Words cannot explain how awesome it feels to be a part of this 21 day fast. I have to say it id a challenge and it’s amazing to see the end result. I was only able to read this now but coincidentally I asked this from Good on my first fasting day..to reveal those areas in my life that are confining me and keeping me from moving into my blessing. I have come far in this area with the help of my lovely Pastor Reina’s Ffna.challenges., but i could
Always use some working on. I will never be perfect but I will always ask God to help me with an upgrade. There are some things I am bringing and taking to the forefront with God and I cannot wait until I see what God had on store for me in the end. Thank you P.C. For every devotional that will help enhance my journey with God in these 21 days. This is a perfect beginning to an amazing ending! Sorry about three misspelling my phone won’t let me fix it :-(
